Tasty Tuesday is a monthly event in our Elementary Shools to introduce the students to new fruits and vegetables. TNCEP offers a sample of a fruit or vegetable to each student during their regularly scheduled lunch period. ***Tasty Tuesday will begin again in September!

Resource Relay

Resource Relay was developed in partnership with Roane County Health Department, and Roane County Coordinated School Health. "Resource" book bags are delivered to school guidance staff on a monthly basis. Each Resource bag contains activities, lesson plans, teaching guides, dvd's, etc on one of 9 different Nutrition based themes. Resources are available to any teacher in the school during the month. This is a cooperative effort to help our teachers meet or exceed the TN State Healthful Living Cirriculum Standards. Resource Relay Bag themes are: Food Safety, Handwashing & Hygene, My Pyramid, Eat Your Colors (Fruits/Veggies), Healthy Habits, Begin with Breakfast, Activity & Exercize, Milk Matters, and Grains.

Senior Nutrition Bingo

Plans are underway to visit area Senior Centers, Assisted Living and residence facilities to play Nutrition Bingo! We played Nutrition Bingo at the Kingston Community Center and the Seniors of the county wanted more! We plan to do this on a monthly Basis.
