Roane County 4-H Homeschool Program: Tennessee Wildlife

Our homeschool program focuses on the wildlife of Tennessee and habitat management practices we need to know as a community to keep our environment healthy and strong. We learn through hands-on, interactive activities. We meet one Wednesday a month from 3:30-4:30 at the Roane County Extension Office. We meet August through May. This program is great for anyone interested in animals or nature and it is encouraged that the students take their knowledge learned in this program and participate in the Wildlife Judging contest held annually in the spring.

Ag Literacy at the Library

A new homeschool adventure has begun in 2025! We have started an agricultural literacy program for lower elementary students in partnership with our local libraries. This program is about more than “The cow says moooo.” Students will learn about where their food comes from and about the many byproducts we get from agriculture.
